Those who have experienced working in an office know that "open space" is not for everyone. The idea of working from the comfort of home is increasingly appealing, as is the desire for travel and freedom. On the one hand, the opportunity to travel, work from anywhere and manage your own time is popular, but on the other hand it requires a lot of effort and self-denial.

In the corporate world, managers provide their employees with a variety of training and their own "know-how" on how to get ahead. As a freelancer, however, you are responsible for yourself. It is necessary to constantly educate yourself and never lose the "lust" to work on different courses and certifications. The competition is high and it is extremely important to know how to differentiate yourself from it. Ask yourself the question, why should a client choose you to work with? Honest answers are the best way to find out in which areas you excel and in which areas you should work on yourself.
How to get projects
Beginnings tend to be difficult, so we recommend not having high expectations right from the start, especially if you are a junior in your field. In the first few months, we recommend increasing activity on your part. Don't be afraid to reach out to your potential clients and show them through your portfolio what you are capable of and what the company can gain by working with you.
If you're not sure where you can get clients, there are many Facebook groups that are directly specialized in those areas. By simply posting in such a group, you can increase your chances of getting clients.
Option number two is that you reach out to businesses that you like, know and use regularly. In this case, we recommend adding specific suggestions to your portfolio on what you could improve at that company. Of course, such a direct search for companies may or may not work out. However, you won't get anything for trying and maybe, even if the company doesn't need you right away, they will remember you in a few months. Plus, it's certainly better than sitting idly at home and waiting.

Don't forget about the formal side of things
