We are looking for a Manual Tester / Data Quality Expert with strong hands-on experience in validating data pipelines, checking data quality, and supporting end-to-end testing in Azure-based data environments. The role combines manual testing, SQL-based validation, JSON payload checks, and close cooperation with technical teams working with Databricks, Azure Data Services, and modern data platforms.

Job description

• Design and execute manual test cases for data pipelines and end-to-end data flows.
• Validate data quality across source-to-target flows, including structured and semi-structured datasets.
• Write and run SQL queries to verify data consistency, completeness, and correctness.
• Inspect and validate JSON payloads and data structures across pipeline steps.
• Support testing of ETL / ELT processes and identify issues in data transformations and delivery logic.
• Work with Azure DevOps to manage test cases, test runs, and defect documentation.
• Cooperate closely with engineering and data teams to analyse defects, clarify expected behaviour, and support resolution.
• Perform functional and regression testing in fast-changing data environments.
• Work with Databricks Notebooks and review Python / PySpark-based logic where needed for validation purposes.
• Contribute to clear test documentation, issue tracking, and quality assurance processes.
• Support practical validation of files and datasets stored in Azure Data Lake, Blob Storage, or Azure SQL environments where relevant.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience
• Strong experience in manual testing, including preparation and documentation of functional and regression tests.
• Good SQL skills, with the ability to write and execute queries for data validation.
• Good understanding of JSON structures and payload validation.
• Experience with manual testing of data pipelines, including end-to-end validation of ETL / ELT flows.
• Practical user-level experience with Azure Data Services.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for test case management, test execution, and defect tracking.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks Notebooks.
• Strong knowledge of Python / PySpark in the context of data validation and data processing.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a proactive, adaptable, and flexible way.
